Angelfire - Remember this one? Still running strong and recommended!
Anoox.com - Forwards to http://www.anoox.com/news/show_articles.php?user=454&pvt=true, which is not cool, but still useful if you're not too picky. Also, users may vote posts as spam, but don't know if that's a problem yet. Otherwise a cool system.

Free Blog List Continued...
Blogigo.com - Good one!
SoulCast.com - Nofollow, and tags stripped from the link on your blog frontpage. Not recommended.
MyDietBlogger.com - Uses wordpress, without nofollow tags. SUSPENDED
BlogNow.com.au - Good one.
Vox.com - Also a nice one. But annoying link css.
tripod.com - Works great!
Aeonity.com - Very minimalistic. In a great way.

Free Blog List
I have researched and found many free blogs where you can post. Here is a complete list:
Blogger.com - Probably THE best one out there. And it may have preference in Google for obvious reasons. It is no coincidence that both this and my main blog is made with Blogger.
wordpress.com - Simply one of the best one out there.
Blog.com - One of the best free blog out there.
LiveJournal.com - Ugly templates but appears to work well.
multiply.com - Good one.
www.myspace.com - Works ok but I personally don't like it.
www.greatestjournal.com - Well, it works, but it ain't pretty.
20six.co.uk - this actually looks decent.
mindsay.com - Looks OK, works ok.
xanga.com - Good, but huge and ugly animated banners.
Squidoo.com - Pretty cool one, but uses nofollow tags.
BloggerParty.com - Ugly and full of ads.
BraveNet Blog - I like it. Recommended.
3Steps.com - Another decent one.
Awarenessnetworks - Too complicated.
